Hello!  🌺My name is Raquel Cope.  This is my 10th year in the Junction City School District and my 16th year overall in teaching!  🍎❤️  I'm super excited to learn together about our health and well-being which is especially important to care for in these times we are in. 💞 I'm also looking forward to being active together!  💃🕺🤗😄🙌

Brain breaks/physical activity breaks are perfect for this time of Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL)!  Whenever you want a morning stretch, you're in between classes, need a break from studying, or need to relieve some stress do one of these quick exercises!

  • 3 days of Health (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) and
  • 1 day of Physical Education (FRIDAY) - NEW Change starting 12/9/20: PE is now on Fridays for "Fitness Fridays" and not on Thursdays

  • I love to eat sour things especially if dipped in vinegar. 😋🤤
  • I was born & raised on the island of Kauai 🌺🏝🤙🏼 But the 1st time I surfed was when I was 19 on the Oregon Coast 🌊🏄🏻‍♀️
  • I’m full Filipino & especially love lumpia, pancit & chicken adobo. 🇵🇭😋
  • I love dancing 💃, relaxing & playing in the rivers with my family! ❤️This summer I went 10 different times to several rivers! 💦
  • I bleed orange & black -Go Beavs! 🧡🖤 😜 I was an OSU Cheerleader for my 1st 2 years in college & I currently coach the Junction City High School Varsity Cheer team. 📣📣📣  *\o/* Go Tigers!!! 🐅

WEEK 8: Use this video to workout anytime!  This video is full of new dances!  Plus see Mrs. Cope in a minion costume!  😜 Warm up with "Hip Hop Yoga".  Then learn a Tiktok shuffle dance #runningman, a Samoan "Sasa" dance,  the "Cotton Eye Joe" line dance, and another Tiktok dance to "Funky Town".  🕺💃 Watch this to get your 30 minutes of physical activity for your Fitness Log. 
 
WEEK 7 Aloha fabulous PE students! I’m excited to share a little bit about my background growing up in Hawai’i 🌺🏝🤙🏼🌈 and my Filipino heritage. So this week I taught the “Hukilau” which is a Hula dance, the “Tinikling” which is a Filipino dance, a TikTok dance called “Stay at Home” and we did Hip Hop Yoga. You can use this for your 30 minutes of physical activity & use for future physical activity as well! Let’s have some fun!
 
WEEK 6:  Watch this video to learn “Hip Hop Yoga”, the “Mexican Hat Dance”, a "Scatter Square Dance", and a TikTok #shuffledance #footworkchallenge. You can use this for your 30 minutes of physical activity & use for future physical activity as well! Let’s have some fun!

Watch the video to learn “Hip Hop Yoga”, the Romanian Folk Dance "Alunelu(l)" they do at the Scandinavian Festival, a "Scatter Square Dance", and a TikTok #shuffledance #footworkchallenge.
 
WEEK 4:  Watch the video to learn “Hip Hop Yoga”, the “Stayin’ Alive” Dance, “Salsa & Merengue”, and the “Push Up Challenge” from TikTok & to do the “Bring Sally Up” challenge!
 
WEEK 3: In this video learn the “Git Up” Dance and “Thriller” Dance plus enjoy Yoga for strength, balance, & relaxation.
 
WEEK 2:  In this video learn the “Macarena", "Electric Slide" and “Sid Shuffle” Dances plus enjoy Yoga for strength, balance, & relaxation.
