Andrew Meskil » Mr. Meskil

Mr. Meskil

Welcome students and parents!  I am still working out the kinks on this platform and do not mind constructive feedback.  I have created pages on this site for 8th grade history and my TEAM class.  You can find the google classroom access codes there.  Please check posts and take a look at the calendar periodically.  However, all class work will be accessed through my Google Classroom.  Videoconferencing with students will be announced on this site in the calender and posts as well as Google classroom.  Don't hesitate to email.  I will get back to you as soon as I can.  If you have not joined my remind class for instant messaging the access is: https://www.remind.com/join/249672.  Be well everyone!  I know all of us are juggling a lot but we can make it through together.

Students, you can check your teacher's page for links to the video hangouts they’re providing this week! Remember to note the time and get the right code BEFORE the meeting. We’re looking forward to seeing your faces soon! Be well and wash your hands. :)

Video Conferencing Schedule Mistake

Hello all.  I realize some of my time slots were incorrect on my schedule for Wednesday's History class period ZOOM meetings.  I fixed the mistake on the schedule on my page but the error may still exist on other teacher pages.  My apologies.  I have put the meeting times and log in information on the calendar here on my teacher page as well as in Google Classroom.
I have made my online curriculum available through Google Classroom.  I would like students to read the directions document in Google Classroom first.  I also made a video with a screen share to try and walk students through the etext and show them what to do.  It is less than exciting but I do have great hair in the video.  I will make a Kahoot available Wednesday to review material and an online quiz that can be retaken will be made available Thursday.  Let me know if there are questions.  Happy Monday!

First week almost behind us so what's coming?

Hello everyone.  This has been a week of learning for all of us.  Many students have completed my supplemental lessons, participated in a video conference, and are all signed up in google classroom.  This week and next, my main priority has been and will be getting people connected and comfortable with the process.  Although we are moving into graded assignments and more traditional curriculum next week do not be stressed.  I will be extremely flexible as we continue to get comfortable with the technology.  I will help however I can and provide many opportunities to succeed.  Please look at the new meeting times for me using the drop down menu at the top of my teacher page.  You will need to know which class period you are in for the class video conference.  If you don't know which history class you have on eschool, I will be posting class lists on my google classroom by student ID on Monday.  I will post the meeting log in information for video conferences on Monday.   You will also notice on the top of the teacher page the learning target and to-do list for the week.

Thank you students, parents, and coworkers for your patience this week.  Enjoy your weekend and the sunshine we are now experiencing.  I look forward to next week!  Be well!

Sun is out and I hope you can take a break and enjoy it!

This distance learning is a work in progress.  Deep breaths.  We will make it.  Take the time to get some vitamin D this week with the return of the sun.
