7th grade Math-Period 2 Assignments

Figure out this mystery by completing each worksheet to find a clue! I want you to start this now, but don't try to finish it all this week! You will finish it next week!! Just read through it and choose the easiest slide or two to complete this week! Mrs. Doggett will be going over this at our Zoom meeting!

You should already have access to this assignment and all the pages on the google slides from last week. You also should have started it, but didn't finish it. This week and next week you get to keep working on it!!

If for some reason you don't still have it on your to-do list on your stream or classwork list, let me know!

When solving these, set up a ratio like a fraction. Put the money on top. Then find the unit rate (price for 1). Basically, you divide both the top and bottom by the bottom number to get a 1 on the bottom. The top number will be your unit rate. I will be showing examples of how to do this in our Zoom on Tuesday!

Go through this slide presentation to learn how to do this. Have someone help you. This is real-life, adult type stuff!! Your Assignment is on the last few slides.

Look through my teaching slides to see how to take a recipe and enlarge it (make it bigger to make more food) but keep all the ratios the same so the food still tastes delicious!!

Then, follow the directions on the assignment slides to enlarge your own recipe. Share your slides with me!

Now it is your turn to practice all of this stuff you've been learning. These slides have good practice problems and some hints on them! Do your best! Get help from someone in your house! Have someone check your work before you turn it in!!!

After you watch Mrs. Doggett teaching this...or maybe at the same time with two windows open on your computer, complete these slides for practice. Don't cheat yourself and just copy answers. Use this as an opportunity to learn a new skill at your pace!!

Read through these slides and complete all the problems.

Reduce ratios by dividing by the greatest common factor (biggest number both numbers can be divided by). That will be an equivalent ratio.

Find equivalent ratios and missing numbers to equivalent ratios. Hint: change the ratios to fraction form and then multiply the top and bottom by the same number to find an equivalent ratio.

Be sure to read these instructions very carefully! I will be showing how to do this during the Zoom meeting on Tuesday!

Complete each page to find the code to move on to the next page and eventually escape! I will be showing how to do this during our Zoom meeting on Tuesday if you need help!

1.) Watch BOTH videos as an introduction to Ratios

2.) Look at the attached worksheets and answer the questions on your own on a piece of paper. This is just practice and you won't turn this in. THEN look at the answer sheet and see if you are correct!

3.) Complete the "Copy of 6th Grade Ratio Concepts" activity in the attached slides. Make sure you are in edit mode. If you accidentally switch to present mode, you won't be able to type in answers or move stuff around.

Make sure if it says to write and equation, that you do that! Equations have numbers, symbols and and equals sign.

Make sure if it says to explain, that you explain each step that you went through to solve your problem. This is usually more than a sentence! Sometimes it can be up to 5 or more sentences depending on everything you did to solve it!!
